What areas do you operate coaches to and from?

We operate coaches in Reading, Berkshire, the Thames Valley, and throughout the mainland UK including the Isle of Wight and some Scottish Islands.

Does Two Rivers Travel operate one-way coach trips?

Yes, we can drop a group off or collect it from a specific location.

If we want to arrange our own meals and accommodation, can you provide the coach and driver?

Yes, we like to be as flexible as possible.

What is included in the cost of private coach hire?

This depends on what you require. A straightforward coach hire will include the cost of the coach, driver, fuel and parking charges. Additional options include a tour guide, meals, accommodation and entry to attractions.

What length of private coach hire do you offer?

Usually up to six days, depending on Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive legislation. We can offer longer coach hires, but as we plan our travel programmes up to a year in advance, you may have to book very early.

Do you offer private coach hire for short breaks and holidays?

Yes, we can operate various short breaks and holidays for you.

Do you offer private coach hire for journeys to continental Europe?

Two Rivers Travel aims to offer coach travel to continental Europe in 2009.

Do you organise all-inclusive private coach holidays for groups?

Yes, we can organise everything for you.

Do you provide a tour guide?

We are privileged to work with Good Connections of Worcester, but if you want a guide as part of your private hire we recommend you book well in advance.

Do you offer to run your Days Out coach trips for private groups?

Yes, with pleasure. We can vary the Day Out to suit your group's specific requirements.

Are you able to book entry to attractions, meals, accommodation for private groups?

Yes. Ask us and we will make the arrangements for you.

Is fuel included in the cost of private coach hire?

Yes, but if there is a sudden rise in fuel prices we may have to add a surcharge - see details in our terms and conditions.

Is VAT charged on private coach hire?

Coach travel is zero-rated, but VAT will be charged at the appropriate rate for any other services we provide. We will advise all costs when you make your booking.

What happens if a coach breaks down on a journey?

It is very unusual for a coach to fail totally on the road. At Two Rivers Travel we maintain our vehicles in accordance with manufacturers' recommendations, and we have formal safety inspections every six weeks. Defects found are put right. We are members of the Confederation of Passenger Transport and have access to other operators should we need to change vehicles when away from our base. We plan not to break down but are prepared if we do.

Is insurance included in case we have to cancel our journey?

No - we recommend that you take out your own to suit your needs.

Are you licensed to operate private coach hire bookings?

Yes, Two Rivers Travel is fully licensed to operate UK coach travel for you.

Are Two Rivers Travel coaches easily accessible for disabled or less mobile passengers?

We do not judge how easily accessible our coaches are as everyone is different. We do take care when choosing vehicles to ensure that they can lower the entrance steps and have relatively wide and shallow steps with plenty of handrails. If you have concerns, please talk to us and we'll be glad to help. We find that, as many of our customers have restricted mobility, patience and the offer of assistance is often all that is needed.

What size of group can you accommodate on private coach hire bookings?

A maximum of 49, including group leaders / organisers.

Will we be able to nominate places to stop for meals, toilets, etc?

Yes, but do agree them when you book your coach hire. We'll be happy to help you decide where to stop if you are unsure. We like to stop every two to three hours anyway, and don't forget we must comply with Drivers' Hours and Working Time Directive legislation with regard to stops.

Do you require a deposit for private coach hire bookings?

Yes, usually 10% with order.

What forms of payment do you accept?

Cash or cheque.

What experience do you have of private coach hire?

We have over 36 years' experience of driving coaches, planning and delivering days out and tour itineraries.
