A great Day Out for everyone! Amberley Museum recreates the past with its collection of listed buildings in a stunning location with nature trails and rare flowers. A narrow gauge railway runs through the site and you can visit demonstrations of old trades and see life as it used to be in rural Sussex. For the afternoon we visit Parham House and Gardens. Set at the foot of the South Downs, the house dates back to the reign of Queen Elizabeth I and, with the garden, has been restored with great sensitivity and care.

Bowood is described as a wonderful oasis of peace and beauty. The house dates back to the 18th century, and 'Capability' Brown designed the grounds around it. If you like trees, there's an arboretum and pinetum and 700 others individually labelled around the estate. With a large lake and waterfall this is really one of Wiltshire's treasures!

British Wildlife Centre and Guildford

We're repeating this Day Out as our visit in 2009 was a great success. We go to Guildford first to give you some time for the shops and an early lunch before heading off to the British Wildlife Centre. There'll be a cup of tea or coffee on arrival, followed by an introduction to the work and development of the Centre and a personal guided tour of the animals by the staff there. Animals at the centre include red squirrels, foxes, otters, wild cats, red deer and hedgehogs. This is a really good opportunity to see some of Britain's native species.
