Today is a delight for anyone who loves gardens. Set in the Dorset countryside the gardens at Kingston Maurwood date back to the 1720s with some later additions. There's a matrix of small themed gardens, tree trails, lakeside walks, terraces, herbaceous border, student gardens and an animal park. We spend the afternoon at Bennetts Water Gardens, famous for its water lily collections. A network of grass pathways take you to ponds and lakes surrounded by wetland plants, native trees, palms, wild plants, flowers and a hothouse
