and riverside walks, our visit should complete an enjoyable day. A tea room,

A Day Out with a difference, as the coach will take you to Wansford where you will transfer to the Nene Valley Railway for your return trip to
Peterborough. Subject to operating requirements, if you travel by the recommended trains, your journey will be behind a diesel locomotive one way and steam on the return to Wansford. The centre of Peterborough is a 10-minute walk from the NVR station (we will provide you with a map and directions on the day). Here there are markets, malls, small family-run shops, large stores, the cathedral and lots of places to eat. A day for everyone! |

Racing driver Captain Howey was the brainchild behind the RH&DR – rather than build a standard railway he chose to have miniatures of the steam
express locomotives of the 1920s. It remains a lifeline for the area, even the schoolchildren use it to get to school every day. Our journey takes us to its main station and headquarters where there is a gift shop and café. There is also a choice of places to eat nearby. The train takes us to Dungeness where a community of fishermen, artists and lovers of Romney Marsh have made their homes. |

From there you’ll travel by the pier railway and ferry to the Town Quay in Southampton. There, the free shuttle bus will take you to Southampton's famous West Quay Shopping Centre. Return by the shuttle bus back to the Southampton Town Quay, where our coach will pick you up for the journey home.
