Do you like magnificent scenery? The Hay-on-Wye book festival, in the shadow of the black mountain, ticks all these boxes.
	Bedford River Festival 30th Anniversary date: Sunday 13 July 2008, pick-up route: EE adult: £23.00, concession: £22.00, child: £22.00 Once famous as the home of Vauxhall cars and Bedford vans and trucks, we’re going to visit the town’s water festival which is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Out on the River Ouse are dragon boats, narrow boats and craft of all shapes and sizes. You can explore also Bedford, if you wish.

The acquired taste of oysters to some is often tempered by their reputed aphrodisiac qualities. For the afternoon, we go the short distance to Herne Bay, a traditional seaside town.
	Eastbourne Airshow date: Saturday 16 August 2008, pick-up route: EA adult: £24.00, concession: £23.00, child: £23.00 We make an early start to give you plenty of time to find a viewing point for the spectacular that is the Eastbourne Airshow. The display takes place out in the bay and features aircraft old and new, from home and abroad, and piloted by the best in the world. There’s also a variety of show exhibits along the seafront.

The town of Ludlow is waiting to give us a gastronomic experience at the annual food festival held in the grounds of its famous castle. It’s a good idea to get a programme so that you don’t miss anything. With plenty of catering areas for a bite to eat or just a cup of tea, you can sit back, enjoy the show and marvel in its setting.

This is The Show in the South for the best of this year’s ideas, materials, yarns and equipment as well as your favourites. And all this in the beautiful setting of Alexandra Palace. On a clear day you can enjoy the views across London during the stroll from the coach park to the entrance. There are also cafés and bars at the show.
